The Lange Shadow 110 MV ski boots bring a new level of power transfer, vibration absorption, and comfort to all-mountain skiing.
Lange's Assisted Performance System amplifies your input to the boot through the mechanical advantage of its Dual Pivot and Suspension Blade technology. This design boosts input by up to 26%, giving you more power and control with less energy. The boot's clean, consistent flex is combined with increased shock absorption through the shell for enhanced snow feel and contact. Like a full suspension bike, this combination lets you ski longer and more efficiently. Together with a 110-rated flex, this boot gives intermediate skiers a strong platform for pushing their skiing forward. At 100mm wide, the medium-volume last complements the thermoformable liner to offer all-day comfort.
Shadow is the first ski boot with an assisted performance and suspension system. This system, combined by two innovations: Dual Pivot and Suspension Blade, allows you to get more out of what you put in; it's an assisted efficiency. It's about transferring power with less effort. This achieves 26% more rebound, using less human energy and physical abilities.
On traditional boots, you have a pivot point and two fix points very concentrated to each other. With the new Shadow, these fix points are placed further apart, creating a mechanical advantage that amplifies energy into power. You will also engage the full length of the boot, instead of a concentrated part.
The Suspension Blade is an external blade, and the upper cuff comes in between. This innovation provides an excellent and smooth connection between the upper and lower parts, allowing them to move together. This offers more absorption and suspension, but also more power energy into your skiing. The upper elastomer adjusts the flex feel in the upper part of the turn and also the snap and rebound. It offers progressive growth and adjustable flex. Indeed, by replacing the Blade elastomer with the soft black elastomer insert provided, the flex can be softened by 8%.
Auxetic Technology is a transformation of a bi-dimensional material into a 3-dimensional material during thermoforming. This effect better follows the foot shapes, providing an amazing out-of-the-box fit and personalization.
Core Custom, dedicated for all-mountain and freeride skiing, utilizes Lange's Auxetic Technology to contour closely to each foot shape. Matched with a 1-piece liner construction, Core Custom Tongue, and using a variety of materials and densities for a customizable fit, it provides comfort without sacrificing performance at each level.
Utilizing a revolutionary new process, both soft and rigid versions of the most responsive high-performance plastics are simultaneously injected and targeted to key areas of the boot. The result of this innovative new process creates Lange's proprietary sandwich shell construction – Dual Core. By sandwiching a softer plastic core within more rigid plastic, elastic tension is drastically enhanced. So as you drive and flex into these boots, Dual Core actively compresses and expands – harnessing potential energy to deliver explosive power, snap, and rebound. Hard plastic is targeted to the areas that transmit power and energy to the ski. Softer plastic is targeted to the areas that wrap the foot and lower leg.
